Together Eveone Achieves More
Ms Mable, yes that was Auntie Margie’s CB handle back in the day. Her and uncle Andy were married for one month short of 54 years and moved into their simple brick home in Gretna La in 1964 where she still lives. Although they never had children of their own, all of the nieces and nephews loved aunt Margie and uncle Andy. Since his passing July 2012 auntie Margie has taken care of herself with the help of Buddy, Carolyn, Russell, Jeannie, Jared, Maria and many other friends and family checking in on her.
Marjorie will be 83 years old this year but is smart and bubbly as ever! Physically she has been struggling to raise her leg high enough to get into the cast iron bath tub into shower for quite some time. I went to visit with her last month and it was obvious she really needed a walk in shower. She has been taking a “Northern Bath” which most of ya’ll know what that is. She agreed she needed one but was just worried about the expense. I felt that was a need that needed to be met and the Lord would be pleased with.
Now you may be receiving this and you won’t ever even meet aunt Margie or you may be a relative that just is unable to get to Gretna much. Either way just pray about it and whatever amount you feel in your heart would be a blessing. You may not be a praying person but you are a giver and have a heart for widows, either way your support is appreciated! It is already installed because I didn’t want to put off meeting her legitimate need. I put it on a 0% credit card so I have time to raise the money.
Jackie is a hardworking, single mom attending nursing school that had a problem with her car. My friends at Timms Harley Davidson recommended this local business and WOW what a blessing! We were so fortunate to team up with Vince to meet Jackie's auto needs. A local business making a true and honest difference in the lives of local people.
Thank you aunt Margie for helping me to REALLY GET IN THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS by dressing me for the part with uncle Andys old Santa suit. Thanks to Rileigh and Allie for the work ya did on sprucing the suit up too! Yup this was a tough year for many but the darker the night the brighter the stars. Sharing HOPE, LOVE, JOY & CHEER truly was the bright star in the dark days of many including me! Th
Supporting families in hands on practical ways that live in our communities that are challenged in difficult living circumstances. This is just one of many stories of how TOGETHER WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Both parents work. The income tax return went to fix the motor in their Suburban. Then the transmission went out. They were riding bikes to work and walking the children to the medical center in the rain and cold. Thanks to Julian at SEMMES AUTOMOTIVE the day before Christmas Eve I told him about the need. THAT DAY IT WAS A DONE DEAL. So many powerful testimonies of HOPE IN ACTION!
